1. Savings. Yes savings! Some credit cards provide discounts when used with partners. Carrying a credit card allows you to take advantage of those offers.
2. Budgeting is easy. With cash if you need to keep receipts, if you lose it the record of your transaction it is gone for good. Credit card statements provide an excellent record of spending.
3. Warranties. Most people have never taken advantage of a credit card warranty. Many, credit cards offer purchases insurance so if you drop your new camera, sit on those sunglasses or leave your mobile phone at a service station and you purchased with your credit card – you may be covered with purchase insurance.
4. Convenience. Sometimes the convenience of the plastic is too tempting to resist, like looking at the line up in the service station and deciding to swipe right their at the pump.
5. Emergency. There are times when you are stuck and just thank heaven you can fall back on your credit card.
6. Rewards. If chosen carefully and used well credit cards offer some good rewards. They may be only a small fraction of what was spent, but it’s nice to get something back just for being a consumer. Make sure you use them!
7. Cash gets lost and stolen. So do credit cards? Yes but they can be cancelled at just about the speed of light and replaced. Cash can not.
